My life is a living testimony for generations in my old community as how education will raise somebody up from a fireplace ash to a high place on earth. I am in a distance of 3 days away (2 days by airplane , 1 day by car and few hours on feet) from my family and old community and live at the far end of our planet. Yes! Education drove met to this point. My family and my old community are amazed when I tell them that I live close to a Pacific Ocean where you can see the last dry land on earth. Nobody has come so far and knew where exactly is the last soil of the earth from my old community and family and as far as I know. That is the end of the world where everybody there has been wondering where and how far it is from there. It was always my dream when I was a child to go so far and see what the world looks like beyond my community. I had vision that God, education and perseverance can take me farther away from my community and see what the world looks like. Yes! God has been with me and my family, many other individuals and organizations have pushed me so far and my dream has come true and I am now a living example to my family and the community that how education does miracle and shows somebody what he can’t see otherwise.

My first escape from my family has opened an avenue to my sisters and brothers. Today they have partially attained their dreams because of my prayer and support to them! When they call and ask me to send them money through Western Union urgently for their education, I say Yes! to them because it is in saying Yes! that dreams come true. I am Yes! to them! But not No ! for their education.

I want that others in my community and other parts of the world like me are able to go so far and see what the world looks like, pursue their dreams, free from the slavery of poverty, ignorance, and disease and again be able to say Yes! to others who are less privileged than them. My first dream for myself has come true but my next dream for uneducated poor children in my community and other parts of the world must also come true. I say Yes! It is possible through my compassion and that of other people and the organizations like Western Union. I am dedicated to inspire others as a Western Union yes! Ambassador.

I have already started inspiring others to get involved in order to change the lives of poor children in Ethiopia. Currently, we have hundreds of thousands of children who need educational assistance in order pursue their education. However, we are asking individuals and organizations to start supporting at least 33 children. Some people are saying Yes! to support them and their life is on the direction of change ( Please see the bright faces of some of those children in http://www.servingothers.org/ ) who need compassion. In March 20008, we have a plan to travel to Ethiopia in order to build an eight room elementary school, distribute food, have a medical team treating typhoid, malaria and other sicknesses, and hold a program for the children ( http://www.servingothers.org/ethiopia.html ). That is our short term goal. Our long term goal is to establish a college in the community for the children who have no means of attending college due to its unavailability and lack of any financial support or means of livelihood to travel far in order to attend college. At the time I completed high school, I was one of the only few students who had the chance of attending college in the story of the community of more than approximately more than 1 million people. No other child had the chance to attend college before that. Today, almost after 29 years, I don’t see anything better in that community. We have to bring change to the community! Yes ! we can. In order to fulfill our dream, we are asking volunteers to get involved in our project order to change the life of these and other unprivileged children in Ethiopia. I and the community need the help other individuals and organizations such as Western Union in order to achieve the goal. As a Yes! Ambassador of Western Union, I am inspired by others and dedicated to inspire others to get involved and to change the lives of poor children in Ethiopia in supporting their education. Please, let all of us say Yes! we can and change the world! In fact, Yes, we can! If so please, join me through http://www.servingothers.org , a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization.
